Vehicle Check Volunteer – Plymouth

Type: Other, Transportation

Location: All of Plymouth

Devon and Cornwall Police are looking for support from members of our community who are interested in supporting the function and availability of our police vehicles and personnel.

Vehicle Check Volunteers assist with the weekly checks of our marked and unmarked fleet of vehicles to ensure the vehicles clean and fully equipped. This helps support frontline policing by ensuring that officers and staff are kept mobile and that any defective or unsafe equipment is identified, repaired or replaced.

As a Vehicle Check Volunteer in Plymouth your role will help maintain the fleet of vehicles that are used by our police personnel. This role would suit someone who has the availability and flexibility to commit to supporting the role on a weekly basis, who has an eye for detail, a basic understanding of vehicles and has a basic understanding of using computers. Full support and training will be provided for the role with the opportunity to help support other locations with vehicle checks depending on need and availability.

A full and clean UK driving licence with at least 12 months driving experience is required for this position, as you will be driving marked and unmarked police vehicles around the compound and to police workshops.

Mileage expenses will be paid at 45p per mile.

Closing date is 25th August, 2020.
