Please note that those who are clinically extremely vulnerable (also known as shielding) are unable to volunteer for the British Red Cross unless in a role they can do from home. Volunteers who are clinically vulnerable, such as those who are over 70, pregnant or who have various underlying health conditions are able to volunteer in public facing roles providing the environment is Covid-safe, with social distancing and hygiene controls maintained, and a personal risk assessment has been completed.

Due to the need to accommodate a fixed number of people at one time in our shops due to corona-virus and current strict social distancing requirements, we regret that we may not be able to accommodate 15-17 year old volunteers in certain locations or at selected times due to a temporary lack of adequate supervision. The shop manager will advise you if this is the case after your application has been received.
