Moor To Life Education & Wellbeing CIC is a not-for-profit explorative, adventurous and nature engrossed education and wellbeing programme created to improve physical and mental health.
Moor To Life Education & Wellbeing CIC is looking for volunteers who have significant experience and a great passion for gardening, horticulture, organic growing and sustainable landscaping.
Based in Yealmpton, Devon on the grounds of the historic Kitley Estate, its unique setting combines an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and adventure to offer fully inclusive, engaging and healthy outdoor programmes that are tailored to suit the needs of all ages and abilities.
Moor To Life offers an alternative skills and learning provision for those who face barriers to education, employment and training. The team wishes to connect the community and offer a range of unique positive experiences that have a lasting impact.
They are actively looking for volunteers who have significant experience and a great passion for gardening, horticulture, organic growing and sustainable landscaping.
Knowledge in plant identification, soil types and biodiversity will be very important for this role.
Moor To Life has an amazing opportunity to redevelop two old walled estate gardens and reinstate them to their former sustainable, produce-rich glory days. A significant amount of manual labour will be required and all resources / equipment will be provided.
As an organisation, it has a very strong team spirit and personal values of respect, trust and integrity are essential. Volunteers need to be confident working in an educational environment and must have or can obtain a current DBS.
As a garden volunteer you will have the opportunity to work on a scaled project that will require planting, pruning, cataloguing seeds, establishing boundaries, or supporting community groups to grow their own produce on some of our allotments.
And as with many of our volunteer roles, you may also be approached by visitors who want to ask questions about the garden or are looking for general gardening tips – so it’s also a great way to share your love for horticulture (and pick up some ideas of your own).
This project will be daily and will continue through all the seasons of the year. Times, days and availability can be discussed.
