Hearts Together Housekeeping need volunteers

Hearts Together is a Plymouth-based charity providing accommodation in the form of Hearts Together Hospital Hotel for patients, carers, and relatives when receiving outpatient treatment or visiting a loved one in Hospital.

Since we first opened our doors in 2001, over 150,000 people have benefited from our accommodation & additional practical or financial support services, with the hotel often described as a haven by guests experiencing some of the most difficult times in their lives.

We are open 365 days a year and have 27 bedrooms. This means there are a lot of beds to change! We have a busy team of housekeepers but an extra pair of hands to make the odd bed or two is always greatly appreciated if that is your area of expertise?

What you’ll be doing

Tasks will vary from week to week however generally you will undertake basic cleaning and support duties alongside the Hearts Together Guest Services Team, this will include:
– Cleaning of bedrooms – stripping and making beds, hoovering, washing floors, dusting.
– Undertaking basic cleaning of the lounge, kitchen, and dining areas to include washing of floors, cleaning of microwaves, fridges, and freezers as necessary, dusting, hoovering, cleaning of worktops, tables, and chairs.
– Helping to replenish and rotate stock and supplies.
– Other general cleaning activities as requested.
– Talking and spending time with guests, providing empathy and understanding.

– A reliable and trustworthy person

What is required from you?

– To be reliable and conscientious in offering a regular commitment
– You must be able to adhere to service guidelines and manage appropriate boundaries, including the need for confidentiality.
– Willingness to attend Induction and undertake training appropriate to the role
