COVID-19 Vaccination Program – Volunteers needed

Location: All of Exeter, All of Plymouth, N. Devon, Torbay

With the rollout of a Covid-19 mass vaccination programme starting this month, we and the Plymouth Good Neighbours Scheme, are working with organisations across Devon recruiting volunteers to help at vaccination centres.

Please follow the link to download a full role description/specification and remember to indicate on your application which area you are interested in. Days and shift allocation will be arranged to suit you once applications are processed. Shifts are likely to be 8am-Noon. Noon-4pm and 4pm-8pm.

Ushering and patient flow Stewards

This role covers both internal and external stewarding, External Stewards are likely to be involved in:

Directing citizens to the appropriate site entrance and directing traffic if necessary, ensuring citizens respect social distancing guidelines and have all the documentation and paperwork prepared for checking

Checking paperwork to ensure citizens are in the right place at the right time and identifying citizens who may require additional support and direct them as appropriate.

Whilst Internal stewards will:

Ensure efficient flow to and from the vaccination station and effectively communicate with the exit area representatives to avoid congestion.

Provide enhanced support to those requiring it (e.g. those who cannot queue standing) and ensure that citizens respect social distancing guidelines. Full role profile HERE.
