Volunteer Fundraisers

When: Ongoing

Where: Plymouth and surrounding areas

DO YOU WANT TO HELP A GOOD CAUSE AND HAVE FUN?  Now’s your chance!

Plymouth charity, Friends and Families of Special Children, is looking to recruit volunteer community fundraisers. You can volunteer individually or with friends, and can give as little or as much time as you like. Whatever time you have to spare, the charity would love to hear from you!

This is a wide and varied role and can be adapted to fit around you and your lifestyle. You could, for example, organise your own fundraising events, represent us at external events, acquire raffle prizes or take part in promotional activities. This is an excellent opportunity to unleash your creativity and have fun while helping us to support local families who have a child with a disability or additional needs.

For further information and to arrange an informal chat please contact Hannah on 01752 204369, or email hannah@friendsandfamilies.org.uk.

Friends and Families of Special Children was set up in 2002 by a small group of parents who identified a huge gap in service provision for children with disabilities and their families within Plymouth and the surrounding areas. The group gained charitable status in 2005 (Registered Charity No 1140826) and is now one of the main providers of integrated leisure services within Plymouth. The charity is unusual in that it helps the whole family, providing activities not only for the disabled child, but also for their brothers and sisters. Parents are supported by specialist workers who provide information, advice, advocacy and access to training workshops. The charity also organises activities which are suitable for every member of the family, something that many families feel is impossible for them to do.
