Armed Forces Week

It’s Armed Forces Week and a small, socially distanced ceremony has taken place, where The Armed Forces Day flag was raised outside Plymouth Guildhall, in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Plymouth.

We will be celebrating this year’s Plymouth Armed Forces Day, on Saturday 27 June, with a virtual event hosted online. This is an opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to our military community, and we are encouraging people to show their support from home and visit the Plymouth Armed Forces Day website.

The website includes a huge range of information about the past, present and future of Plymouth’s military, including fascinating videos from The Box’s archive.

There’s information about the diverse range of career opportunities available within the Armed Forces, as well as details of a number of charities and support organisations that offer help to veterans on a wide range of issues.

You can also take a look back at the highlights from last year’s awesome event, with a video and photographs displayed in the online gallery.
